A quick shot I took at Horseshoe Bend...didn't have a tripod with me, so it isn't as crisp as what the shot could have been...

GREAT photo -- Excellent color and I like the composition. Nothing...no barriers...you can walk off the edge. It's all about who has the biggest balls to creep up to the edge. You have to get very close to it to get the full Colorado River in the shot, otherwise it just gets cut off with the ground below you. That and a 1200 ft drop if you do fall. Vulcan58 wrote in post #6548286 Good shot. I can see how it gets its name. Is that in the Grand Canyon?? Technically, no. The "Grand Canyon" starts from Lee's Ferry about 2-3 bends down the river. But for me, it may as well start here... willy b wrote in post #6548287 Love it! Thanks

What was the sky like? I ask because the upper left corner has some sky with some serious blue fringe. I'd do something about it, crop down a little or if you had one with the sky showing as well that might work better? The sky was clear, but the sun was facing towards the lens - not fully head on, but you can tell from the shadows. Made it a bit difficult. The only PP I did with it was to amend the contrast and the white balance adjustment.

Because I flew and didn't have the space to take a tripod with me? Yup, about 3 miles south of Page, Az. The place is well marked too, so you can't miss it. FlyingPhotog wrote in post #6551425 Oh sure, take the practical approach... I was gonna let him take all 270+ miles of Colorado River to find it! ![]() There are some people who do take a 9 hr pontoon boat ride down the Colorado, not sure how much they cover though...should have let him cover the full 270+ of the canyon, since it is just outside the canyon limits

I crawled to the edge with the wind blowing 35mph(no guts). Works great with 10mm. Printed it 16x20 for a show next weekend. Print big the detail is great!!! Duane
