Thought I would get a few shots of our daughter as she ate some dinner:

IMAGE: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3288/2967771347_843a3df149_b.jpg

1/50 f/2.8 ISO 100, flash bounced to the left. Shot in JPG. Slight levels tweak and USM done to help the pop, didn't really need the USM it was quite good straight from the camera.

100% crop for the pixel (lash) peekers:

Can you see me and my wife in the eye? I think my 24-70 is doing its job!

she's precious and i love the messy face - great focus on her eyes - and catchlights too - but i feel like the photo as a whole is really underexposed. if you fix that, i think you'll have a winner!

Killer Shot! Evocative, but even more impressive is the mood you captured/created. Seems especially hard to create dramatic mood with babies...at least for me (with our 7mo boy)!

Congrats on both a great shot and a beautiful child.

What was in the background or did you replace it? Great shot and it may benefit from a slight exposure adjustment +0.25.

The background is just the baby's chair, its dark blue.

I think I need to calibrate my monitor, the picture looks well exposed on my computer here, but a bit underexposed on my work computer.

It is really orange on my computer (barring the spaghetti). I had a quick play with the lighting and coloring only.

^ I think that one is off, if anything. The baby looks pale white and green/yellow, not to mention some posterization on the shoulder/side of head. I saw it and went "Ew" - Where-as the original I straight away though, "Great shot!"

The original is a little orange, but much better than that take. I'd say keep the original.

That 24-70 is nice!

You are right...it looked better before I saved it for the web.

Great lens! Wonderful capture! Your baby is just too cute. The photograph is too red on my monitor but the edit posted was too yellow/green.

This shot is awesome!

I will agree with Maureen Souza in that it looks orangish to me.

Her re-color looks spot-on on my monitor.

Good job!
