Filling the frame with the moon: Sigmonster + 2x TC

Just for kicks I thought I'd see what it takes to fill the frame with a full moon up here in the northern hemisphere at this time of year. Turns out it takes a Sigmonster +2x TC set to 1462mm on a 1.6x camera for a full frame equivalent of 2340mm. I actually had to add space to the top and bottom of this to make it look less constrained:

For a more interesting shot, here's the moon passing behind thin clouds. This one's only at 800mm with no TC:

I like the eerie quality that the thin clouds give the moon. Nice images!

Really, is that right? Because with my 1200mm scope at prime focus the moon fills the frame almost as much as the image you posted. But then I guess I probably have a smaller sensor on my 450D...I don't know.

Anyway, you really are getting awesome shots from that monster lens of yours...I love it!!
