Manfrotto Modo alteration

Is is possible to take the head of the Modo tripod and replace it with a ball head? It's just that although i think the legs are sturdy enough for what i need, the head is not the best. I dont feel 100% confident in trusting my gripped 400d and lenses to the clamp mechanism it has!

If this is the one you mean, I wouldn't trust the legs with that gear either. But no, the head's tagged as non-removable. If you were able to find a center column of the same size, you might be able to swap columns and use a different head that way, but I'd really suggest getting a different tripod.
