I'm already having second thoughts . I don't want the 1DsII for the pixels, I want it for a full frame camera with a red channel less sensitive than the 5D's. I don't know lol, I don't feel 100% good about this FT either.

No you know what you're totally right. The 1DIII handles reds better than the 5D too anyway and it's WAY too good to let go for that 2-handed control, small screened 1DsII...I can't do this hahahah. Wtf was I thinking.

I was going to buy the 1Ds2 before I let my 30D go.

Now after having used a 2-handed control body, I'm not a big fan of it :)

I wasn't a big fan of it on my 1DIIN either. Is that a beauty dish?

that is.

a 4 hr diy'er. I'm useless when it comes to doing a quick build, but i got the materials and sent my friend the schematics; he made some tweaks. started at 9 last nite, got done by 11. assembled at 10 this morning, in use by noon.

next up: ceiling T-bar panel to go over the surface, and find a piece of cloth so I can stitch an elastic band around it for a diffusion sock.

finally, I can start really hunkering down on getting my directional lighting down and practicing it at will.

Very nice! Are you firing a 580EX through it? (I saw the other thread, and figured you can't handhold a giant studio strobe like that :p)

Hot damn I love that second one. Did you gel a short side fill light to match the sky, and WB for the main light? Or is it just one light with the rest natural?

both are one strobe setups, ALMOST straight from the camera. mostly levels and curve tweaks.

gel on the key light; for both pictures.
