I love how you go nuts with the gels, it works well. But can you explain to me how that works, gelling the key light in that situation? I don't use gels much (in fact I've only used them once, and I was just messing around) and can't figure out what's going on there.

If I want to turn a drab scene into a cooler shade, I'll have to use tungsten to balance a gelled light; but that'll turn the skin fairly white, which is not very appealing.

So the gels need to be stacked. One full CTO to set the WB and shift everything that isn't hit by the gel to blue, one quarter CTO to warm up the skin; use them together and voila, cool toned background in what would've been a ****ty over-cast sky and warm skin tones all in one pic :p

Ahhh I get it. Nice. Have you ever tried the opposite? Warm up the setting by using a cool gel for WB and then throw another on to get a coolish gelled light on the model with a warm background? I wonder how that'd look.

Cyril, are you on F-list? Did you get an invite to the Brandon Dwyer launch next Friday? I'm gonna be covering it - friggin' Victoria's Secret model Andi Muise man, how do I say no to that?

Ok so I know this is kind of last minute, but I need one more assistant quite badly for tomorrow - and it'd be really good if the assistant had access to a car, that's what we're really looking for. If anyone who was interested who has a car is still up for it, PM me, text me, email me, or call me :p.

We're looking at a 9:30 meetup at my place, get all the stuff, then drive down to beach for a 10:30 call time.

three very quick edits to get it up to my blog.

A word of warning Perry; be prepared to fend off GWCs if you're doing swimsuits ;) You wouldn't believe the looks she got from walking 2 blocks in that 3rd outfit. Some coffin dodger at the Kensington won't stop snapping away at her with his camera while I'm working.

Wanted to smash his camera soooo bad :p

I can't see the images here, but I can see them if I just use the URLs. I like the first one a lot.

Julian and John-Allan can fight off the GWCs .
