I do not understand why I have to continuely call back to have my package held for pick up at the warehouse rather then UPS attempt the delivery. I called UPS yesterday and was told to call back once the package reaches the local warehouse. I just checked the web site and see the package arrived in Atlanta so make the call to UPS. Now, I am too late for the package to be held in Atlanta as the package is on the way to the next warehouse, which is just south of ATL.

Why can't they just input the stupid little message "CUSTOMER WILL PICK UP PACKAGE FROM WAREHOUSE" into their multi million dollare computer system? So, now I am stuck playing phone chase with my package and wasting time calling this company to arrange this.

I avoided B&H with this purchase because I had a similar problem with UPS last purchase (10-22mm). At least this time it seems I may have the option to actually pick up the package from the warehouse. With the UWA I was told B&H must call and have the package delivery cancelled / held by UPS at the warehouse for local pickup. Called B&H who said it was against their policy to make such a call. Finally the 3rd delivery attempt my neighbor was home to accept the package. Who knows what kind of treatment the package received during these extra days

I went through Amazon for this purchase because I was thinking USPS would be the method of shipment. I think this is the last time I deal with UPS! What a pain this is!!

Thanks for listening. Had to get that out and since my gf is not here, I let you guys have it

i know that waiting on packages is no fun. however, it is probably best just to pay for the 2 day air shipping and let the package get dropped off to your door. If you get a door tag, then you can go to your local warehouse and pick it up. Why go through the hassle of trying to catch it midstream??

Why don't you just get a mail drop in your town? You know, a "box" at a packaging/shipping outlet that accepts UPS for you. Then you can go there to pick up your packages at your leisure.

I fully understand why UPS doesn't allow rerouting until after a delivery attempt has been made. It's a matter of security, and very valid.

If you truly want USPS delivery, then get a Post Office Box. Only USPS delivers to a P.O. Box. You will then be forced to go to the Post Office to get each and every package.

Of course, I wouldn't want USPS delivery for a brick, much less photo gear, but that's me. To each his own.

I agree whole heartedly with 20droger, I have only used USPS when I had absolutely no other choice. UPS is really the way to go with shipping. They are usually much better with claims as well.

Next time have it delivered to your work, girlfriends, moms, neighbors, or someone else you trust and that will be home. Or better yet, go buy it at a local photo store. Or drive to New York for vacation and pick it up. And why blame B&H for UPS delivery policy, that is made to ensure you get the package? Through B & H you can choose nine shipping methods, three each with either UPS, USPS, or Fed Ex.
