Are there different versions of 17-50 Tamron 2.8?

Are there different versions of 17-50 Tamron 2.8?

Saw a great deal on one but not sure if there are different versions of this lens.

No. Only one model for Canon mount. Just be sure to get the correct mount (e.g., Canon, Nikon).

Do note that the Tamron 17-50mm are made in 2 countries: china and japan. it seems that the japanese made ones have better qc, so, it could be something to look out for on the packaging.

how can you tell where it's made from?

I have two Tamron lenses,,17-50mm F/2.8 made in Japan, 28-75mm F/2.8 assembled in China.. Both lenses have the same build quality and both work brilliantly but the lens made in Japan has a tightish zoom ring.. Funnily the 28-75mm was bought from a camera shop in Australia, the 17-50mm from Hong Kong via Ebay..

To be honest I'm not concerned about the quality control of either lens..

Makes me wonder where some of the lower spec Canon lenses are made??
