Does anyone know if remote shutter releases are available for Non-SLR digital cameras?

Depends on the camera . . . Not (from Canon), though, for any Canon P&S digitals I know of, although with the CHDK hack you can use a modified USB cable as a remote for some models, and if they support Remote Capture you can trigger them from your computer. There are also some arrangements for holding a mechanical cable release over the shutter release if you don't mind the bulk.

Some of the Canons (I know my early G2 did.) had available IR wireless remotes available. Is this something like what you had in mind?

I'd prefer Canon, but if Canon does not make a current model, I'd be willing to convert to another company temporarily...
