Hey guys,

So my wife used my Olypus sp350 at her sisters stagette. and well when we plugged the XD card into her laptop it took a min but then asked use to format so we removed it and put it back into the camera where its still asking us to format it..

Decided to use my recovery software and put it into my desktop and i can't get it to read at all.. nothing, tried again on her laptop and nothing.. when i put it into the camera it gives an error and tells me to format.. finally gave up and decided to let the camera format it and it started but then got a card error and wont format.

any hope for this card or do we right it off.. she is really upset with it being a once in a life time.. event but what else can i do.

What program did you try? There are a large number of recovery programs of different capabilities. One of the best, although not free, is PhotoRecovery Advanced from DataRescue (external link). You can download a trial copy which will tell you what it can recover; if you like what you see, you pay, get a registration code and recover your files.
