Glad to help. Generally, my perception as a non-ebayer is that if someone's asking you to end it early, and is trying to shift communcations outside of e-bay's system, it's pretty suspicious.

when you are listing it for sale you should have an option to choose "buy it now" and put your BIN price in there.

It's been a while since I used ebay though but that's how it used to be.

Im selling my old rebel XT and a lens on ebay and I got these two emails... What do you guys think?
guys does this seem like a scam to you?

When I worked for the bank anything "africa" was a flag, I hate to say it because I am sure there are some good quality people there too. They just sound a little fishy to me...
perhaps they are trying to get your information...

If you don't have a buy it now price listed...any offer to stop the auction is a scam...and also a violation of ebay terms of service.....don't even consider these kinds of offers.

I've really strayed away from ebay lately. If I have spare things lying around that I want to sell, I sell through Amazon. They just take a small commission for themselves out of your final sale and that's it. Much simpler for me at least.

Often even the text of the message that a scammer will send out will be nearly identical across a number of attempted scams. You can search for a phrase within the message and see what comes up. In this case they offered a couple of easy to pick e-mail addresses to use, but I would not be surprised to find that they've tried the same thing, using the same message, but with other e-mail accounts.
