I felt like a spammer...hehehe
that's how I felt when I was doing the posts in the first place.
That's why I asked Dan to do a cartoon for it...at least it'd make people laugh if the multiple posting irritated them.

If I can pick the lenses up over the next 5 years that would be nice, if not I'll live without them.

The 40d (or 50d possibly...I know nothing about it) is a really nice companion to the 5D. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

Permagrin wrote in post #6718775 I remember that (switching from the xt to the 30D) and loved the feel in my hands (I dont' have big hands either)...it felt so much more solid. For me, size wise the 40D is the perfect size (5D too). The 1 series are big and heavy and since I'm usually hauling 2 cameras it's nice that they both aren't 1 series. My 20D, which used to feel so substantial, feels like a featherweight now. On top of that, I've got a Rebel film camera that I bought in 1996 that feels like an absolute toy in comparison to either. -David

I think a 40D or 50D with the 300 2.8 along with a 1.4x and 2x extender would make a very nice wildlife setup.

The 300 2.8 is really the best lens I've ever owned. My gosh it's a dream. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

I used to think that my 100-400 was as long as I could ever imagine needing. This time of year I begin to remember why people use longer glass. Then I remember how much the $$$ skyrockets to go from the already substantial 100-400 to any of the long primes and shake my head. it's true...if you have a good 100-400 then maybe going prime isn't necc. The expense is considerable. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

I hear you. I used to be on my high school golf team and my parents supported my "habit". Now I only play occasionally, though I enjoy mini golf when I can't get to the course. Putting was always my weakness.
