Moooo, good evening. Nice work today folks.

Which one of these do you think is better for a Book submission? I'm leaning towards no 1.

No.1

Snowing here.

Like Puddle said, yesterday afternoon it was sunny and 69 degrees with no wind, one of the most pleasant days of the year.

Gorgeous shots Julian...love the last two especially!

G'moo all. I should be doing things to get ready for Hawaii...but I'm just hanging out...tired.

That one is certainly worthy of consideration. One thing about voting for the book....it seems that the image needs to have a thumbnail that pops...I swear that some people never look at the full size shot...just vote on the thumbnails...

I think this happened as well. Perhaps the thumbnail needed to look good to get people to click on it? I don't know. But certainly don't let that stop anyone from entering. Last years book ultimately ended up with consistently better photos (imo) than the year before (the year before had great photos but I just think that there was a real mix of quality in it vs. last year's in general). So anyway, in the end it seemed to work out okay.

Woops, so much for saying the ground iS warm. Its white!

Wheres the camera?

Well I drove across town from Haw Creek to West Asheville where I work (Eliada) and found that we had almost nothing here... but by 9:30am it was pretty white here and visibility was WAY down.... I can see Spivey from my classroom window and it was gone as was the end of the horse pasture! Then suddenly the sun came out... Now I can see blue skies and fluffy white clouds... No matter it is still windy as the dickens and COLD COLD too!!!!!! We always have a constant breeze around here though... it blows up through the pastures non-stop around here!

October blizzard and Cataloochie is hoping to have enough snow to open today...wonder how many skiers they get....earliest they have ever opened....with a 2 foot base.

I'm impressed! This week with my 4 year olds we're talking about community helpers... so with the snow we talked about snow plower operators and snow makers at Ski resorts hehehehehe

Moooo Harm.

I will refrain from saying ugly things to those with beautifully warm pleasant weather... It's cold and windy here!!!!!!

Soon you'll be in the islands....kicked back and relaxing!

I think each year will see an improvement in the book....the first year was an experiment...the second year became a contest...now it has become an event. More people are participating, the screening process is more rigorous and we have more talented people taking an interest.

I seriously wish there was a way to do away with thumbnails...so people would actually look at the full size image. But shy of that...things are at least balanced out by having the split vote....where we know the book committee members do actually look at the images prior to voting on them. :D

Yep. Number 1.

Snow? And Sugar's got 2" today. Ann may decide to cancel our trip in that case . . . She's so not a winter person.

So who's gonna be what for Haloween?

I'm going to be the grumpy grouch on the block. I hate halloween... I've despised the holiday ever since the teenagers co-opted it from the kids. I don't think anyone over the age of 13 should be allowed to trick-or-treat... We usually turn out the lights and hunker down and watch TV or something.

I can't believe you guys are getting snow. That's crazy. We're in the 70ยบ range over here.

We have temperatures in the mid to high 80's today. The county is still under a red flag alert because the fire danger is so high.

You know me....I like to live dangerously.

Fear not on the snow front...it has all disappeared. We are supposed to return to normal by Thursday at the latest.

Well, we count on rentals to the skiers to help pay for the place, so I wouldn't mind a couple of feet early on and lasting . . .
