Howdy people... wakko wrote in post #6720672 Oooo let us know in the brissie thread if you come to brissie (even before). I like brissie out of those three choices. Don't let the weather put you off, because it's not normally like that. We do get a couple of storms a year in summer, but that's about it. It's usually lovely and warm all year round and not TOO hot like further north. I certainly will do. It is difficult to pick up and phone the guy down under, esp with this whole global recession, the worry is not with me, but whether the missus can get work down there, or whether she wants to go back to uni and get a masters/2nd degree. That makes it hard. I've told the bosses that Brisbane is my top choice (mainly though knowing a good number of friends down there), but Perth would be the best for my career, and Sydney is also another option. I've done my homework about all the places etc. Now it is a case of which one do I plump for!! The more choices you have, the harder it is!! Nice and simple, very slick. wakko wrote in post #6720835 heh yeah it's funny how rain falls where it's not REALLY needed sometimes... i heard the water crisis is quite bad in SA too.. espsh in the north. been talking to a few blokes in the brissie thread, and it seems that the rain was only from midnight to about 3am... so that's an impressive volume for about 3 hours ^ ^ yup, that is an impressive amount for such a short space of time!! Permagrin wrote in post #6721950 Okay guys, SMWYG is up and running for 2009! https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=6721943#post6721943 oh i will definitely be joining in that one!! Permagrin wrote in post #6722141 oooh Chris, I forgot...I ordered that popcorn popper! Do you use gourmet popcorn or just regular popcorn? Party at Permie's....decent popcorn is sooooooooooooo nice!! timbernet wrote in post #6722260 I got the official call from HR today asking me if I wanted the job - I said... yes. Drug test tomorrow morning... I can't have an liquids for 4-hours before the test... so a big glass of water before I go to bed and a LOOOONG night and morning... Excellent news there, good luck and hope you pass the drug test! belmondo wrote in post #6722265 Watching Wall-E. Wife and I went to see that movie at the cinemas. It is an excellent movie, I must say. Cute film. [CaliGirl wrote: ='[CaliGirl];6722519']I just wanted to stop by in here and say hi! I'm a newbie to the forum as well as to the SLR world...I have found this forum to be extremely helpful!! I hope I can return the favor soon. Hello and welcome to the forums. Don't be afraid of jumping into conversations mid-way with these fine folks...just be ready to play "catchup" constantly!! belmondo wrote in post #6722735 Disney has really never let me down on animated features (digitally animated, anyway). This is an exceptionally cute movie, but is probably best watched in HD if at all possible. I give it two thumbs up. That's all I have. Maybe I'll throw in a couple big toes if that would help. Pixar have always done a fantastic job with their movies. I guess the "attention to detail" makes them stand out so much over all other animated movies. My personal fave of them all so fat would definitely have to be Monsters Inc. Nice shots....menacing looking sky out there! wakko wrote in post #6723924 nice composite... we've got another cell coming our way now ![]() i thought it was all over... checked BOM and it's like... dammit another round on the way ![]() wakko wrote in post #6723956 yeah it wasn't too bad... the water's had time to drain off... hahah not like last night...stupid milk powder tin was full when I went up there this evening to check on it ![]() crazy. need to get our tile fixed .Isn't it monsoon/cyclone season out there right now?

Woolburr wrote in post #6725850 Gooooooooooooooom? having dental issues? My oldest went to the orthodontist yesterday and got a retainer (not sure why they call it that, it's actually a precursor to braces, and not what follows braces like it did in my day). He's trying to figure out how to talk with it now. "C," "G," and "Z" sounds are really driving him nuts. -David
