Howdy people...

Oooo let us know in the brissie thread if you come to brissie (even before).

I like brissie out of those three choices. Don't let the weather put you off, because it's not normally like that. We do get a couple of storms a year in summer, but that's about it. It's usually lovely and warm all year round and not TOO hot like further north.

I certainly will do. It is difficult to pick up and phone the guy down under, esp with this whole global recession, the worry is not with me, but whether the missus can get work down there, or whether she wants to go back to uni and get a masters/2nd degree. That makes it hard. I've told the bosses that Brisbane is my top choice (mainly though knowing a good number of friends down there), but Perth would be the best for my career, and Sydney is also another option. I've done my homework about all the places etc. Now it is a case of which one do I plump for!! The more choices you have, the harder it is!!

heh yeah it's funny how rain falls where it's not REALLY needed sometimes...

i heard the water crisis is quite bad in SA too.. espsh in the north.

been talking to a few blokes in the brissie thread, and it seems that the rain was only from midnight to about 3am... so that's an impressive volume for about 3 hours

^ ^ yup, that is an impressive amount for such a short space of time!!

Watching Wall-E.

Wife and I went to see that movie at the cinemas. It is an excellent movie, I must say. Cute film.

Disney has really never let me down on animated features (digitally animated, anyway). This is an exceptionally cute movie, but is probably best watched in HD if at all possible.

I give it two thumbs up. That's all I have. Maybe I'll throw in a couple big toes if that would help.

Pixar have always done a fantastic job with their movies. I guess the "attention to detail" makes them stand out so much over all other animated movies. My personal fave of them all so fat would definitely have to be Monsters Inc.

Moooooooorning. . .

I should step away from the keyboard and get some sleep, but I am looking at cars and crunching numbers...

Down between a Subaru Forester or a Toyota Rav4 (new design)... I think the next step would be to see them in person...

Got called to do some scrapbook opinion giving on some of the photos I printed last night.

I looked the Rav4 and CR-V when they were first introduced. Ended up going in another direction, but I know a few people with more recent versions who are pleased with theirs.

Definitely need to check things out in person. There have been a few cars that were very high on my list during initial research that quickly got dropped from consideration once I had a chance to sit in them and see things first hand. Strange things about ergonomics or design that I would never have known about, but once experienced, would never have been able to overlook.

To tell you the truth, when I first saw your location a few month ago, I though it said Pullman, not Puyallup. I was very close to adding you to my ignore list... :)

 There are a few people in my extended family who've done time in Pullman, and there's a big agricultural extension campus nearby, but I actually was a Logger and went to UPS for undergrad. I was a UC-San Diego Triton for grad school.

none taken ever with that nick... i mean... if I could change it I probably would... seeing everyone calls me by the name in my signature anyway :) but no biggy.

 I knew you'd read it just the way I was writing it, but I was also writing in a very stream of consciousness mode last night and that was the thought that ran through my head the moment I typed that.

wakko wrote in post #6723395 (external link)
on another note... please spare another thought for the poor residents of South East Queensland again....

Wow. . . again and again. . .

Like the Cap'n said, we very rarely see anything like that out in the Pacific Northwest. We'll get periods with a lot of rain over a couple day span, or a little bit of rain over what seems an eternity, but it's extremely rare for us to get hit with something with that much intensity packed into such a short duration.

Gooooooooooooooom? having dental issues?

My oldest went to the orthodontist yesterday and got a retainer (not sure why they call it that, it's actually a precursor to braces, and not what follows braces like it did in my day). He's trying to figure out how to talk with it now. "C," "G," and "Z" sounds are really driving him nuts. Helpful Dad that I am, I gave him a list of tongue twisters to practice with. ;) He's actually very excited to have it. Now we'll just have to wait and see how long until he loses it for the first time.

Time's a wastin' on that TPBM catch up. I don't even read over there unless someone provides a specific link. I just see the count scrolling by like I'm watching a stock ticker, only the numbers there go up instead of down. ;)
