Jen - I think the exposure in the first is better than the second. The second looks a touch over exposed. The wall behind them comes out differently in each shot, and in the second Santa's coloration seems a bit washed out. It's not the ideal color for a background with Santa, but I don't imagine you had much control over that. I'm sure that also would have played havoc with any chance of bouncing the flash. I'll go back and look at the exposure values on those two.... I totally had no control over the placement... heck there are some pictures where there's other crap in the picture.... T.D. wrote in post #6912405 What software do you have, I don't remember. LR, CS3, Elements5 How do you soften skin? Jenn, gone back to novice photographer...

I was trying my best to keep kids from walking between me and Santa... but I was between the kids and the toys under the tree The ceilings in that space are 10 feet and everything is that pea green... But bouncing the flash never seems to work for me... it always looks odd.... LR, CS3, Elements5 How do you soften skin? Do you have LR2? If so, you can do it in there. I don't know how to do it in Elements (I use Nik Color Efex Pro).
