Suggestions for Must-Dos in Tampa/St Pete's area?

Only one Tampa story, and one that I hesitate to repeat, but oh well.

I was down there for a computer conference several years ago. A group of people I'd worked with on a long-term project got together after one of the sessions and headed to a local watering hole. While there, a woman I'd never seen before in my life came up to me and immediately launched into a waaaaaay too familiar conversation as if we'd known each other very well for years. After an awkward silence on my part, and some questioning looks from the group of people I was there with, the woman realized I wasn't who she thought I was. She then went on to explain that I apparently was a dead ringer for one of her regular clients. She apparently knew my double through the strip club she worked, and had developed the "relationship" from there. :oops:

I haven't been back to Tampa since.

I finally found the tripod. Hooked up the remote switch, read some manuals... how to set up a tripod, how to make the camera go click with the remote switch.... figured out how to hook the camera to the tripod. Got all the settings the way I wanted them. Took it all outside............ and walked right into a fog bank.:(

:lol::lol::lol:

Sorry, Mike -- I was trying to figure out if it was going to be fog, clouds, a dead battery, or a missing CF card that was going to get you. :lol:

I did get this shot of the Stratosphere:

Nice. I've never done a helicopter tour of Vegas. Yet...

This is my favorite of my own Stratosphere shots (from the top observation deck):

And this is the shot from the Stratosphere (also from the top observation deck) that I had printed on metallic paper:

Talking about it afterwards, we were actually shocked how much she revealed (with her words!!!) to people she knew absolutely nothing about, even after she figured out I wasn't who she thought I was. :shock:

Lisa, nice flowers!

That's cool! Please tell me you didn't have to paint yourself purple to win that. ;)

Nope, no body paint. Just a whole lot of yelling. And it helps when you're really tall, it makes it easier for them to see you when they're picking the winner.
