I must be the odd one... I was at the doors of our local Drivers License office when the opened November 3, 1989!!!!! I drove myself to school just minutes after I got my license! hehehehe I got my car I want to say (but don't fully remember) when I got my permit at 15 or shortly thereafter.... :D I did wait a few years before I learned to drive fire trucks though

well i passed my test as soon as i could take it...as soon as I got my provisional license I had a bunch of lessons and within 24 days of me getting my provisional license, I'd passed my test. Only issue was that I didn't need a car or could afford one then....as the years have gone by, I've enjoyed not having one. Especially after work. I have so much more time now (and back in the UK) to go to the gym, hang out with friends...But needless to say, I have had a few tickets for speeding :rolleyes: They have all but gone now though....;)

I don't go there. I just Googled for Scott on facebook and there must be hundreds of Scotts with his last name. Some of them seemed kind of weird too....

While I'm here, I might as well share some exciting news. I just got my first car! It's not completely finalized yet, but as long as everything goes smoothly, the keys will be in my hand by the end of the week. Of course, pics will be up as soon as it's official mine :D.

Congrats!

I took my driver's license test in a small town in Eastern Washington the day of my birthday. We were there when they opened, and I took the written immediately. The one person manning the office said they had an appointment open 3 hours later that day for the driving portion, so my Dad and I were going to hang around town and wait for it. We'd headed down the block to a donut shop to grab a bite to eat and the examiner walked down to find us. Her morning appointment had canceled, and she came to find us and ask if I was ready to take the test right then. I jumped at the chance!

Good thing I passed. I took the test on July 3rd, and had already volunteered to drive the carpool to a summer program at the University of Washington on the Monday after the 3 day weekend.

I noticed when taking my test over here in Boston, that it isn't as evil and nasty as it is in the UK. That and if you take a test in an Automatic in the UK, you cannot drive a manual car...

Mind you, with a simple, short test, it made it so much easier to pass my test over here with all the bad habits you pick up when driving.
