This is a heck of good bargain for those that might be interested in their Firewire CF Reader + comes with a 2GB Extreme IV CF card. This combo usually sells for around a $100 on most sites but Canoga Camera has for $29.94 (external link) + shipping.

can someone comment on how much faster this is over CF? I've recently had to drain all my cards at once (16GB) and it takes a while over USB, but not so long that i thought i needed to solve it. so anyone with some timings to share?

Yes _ Canoga Camera is a very reputable business to deal with.

The specs in this one states it comes with the 400/800 FW cables.

"It supports FireWire 800/400 connectivity on both Windows and MAC Operating Systems. It plugs and plays with no external AC power."

Yep, jumped on it as well. Vista and my 1D MkIIn do not play well together, no drivers for firewire support and very slow transfer rates :(. I could use my laptop, but I would still have to transfer to the desktop and it'd be horribly slow :(. Hopefully this is blazing fast!

He's in California, same as Congoa - ;)

Glad you guys took advantage of this. I was was going too but decided to stay with my Extreme USB reader for the time being as it supports both CF/SD formats.
