This is a handy-looking tripod for macro work. Does anyone have any experience with it, or feedback on Benbo tripods in general?

I have the much bigger one, probably similar to the Mk I except mine is 25-30 years old.

I can only comment on that one.

1. + it is quite solid, however being aluminium it is not as well damped for vibration as Carbon Fibre.

2. + The legs are water tight (my one has 2 section legs that join in the middle), so put in 2 fee of water or sand no problem.

3. + yes it is very very flexible in terms of positioning. At the time I got mine it was unique, now several manufactures have some version of a swingable centre column.

4. - My big one is like four pieces of scaffolding, loosen the lock screw and it is like handling a drunk set of bagpipes. You need to be careful about adjustments with the camera mounted to avoid accidents, I hold the head with one hand.
