My thoughts exactly. It looks like a duck. Do you want a chicken?:D
The images look good and sharp to me. Might clone out the light source in the eye in #2.

Everyone, thanks for the replies. Thanks for looking.

Actually, I was wondering how many people would object to the saturation, sharpening, and composition. And I was hoping that those who object could make edits and show me acceptable limits to saturation and sharpening as well as advice and points on proper composition.

I don't like the crop in the first at all.....but the photo is clear.maybe a tad sharp in processing?
The second photo is pretty bright...the top side is out...and the crop to the beak is really close to the frame?
Ducks in sunlight are a hard nut.....their reflective feathers play havoc on getting a detailed shot ,do you find this?.

Gail, thanks for your input. You've been very helpful, especially for sharing the info about the reflective nature of duck feathers in sunlight. I wasn't aware and have been completely oblivious to that fact.

Cheers,
MJ

MJ, I have deleted more shots of mallards than I have kept:( I try to get that lovely turquoise, green, majenta.and PFTTTTTTT.the sun or water reflected on those durned feathers ruin it.
I watch others do it, and its all about the time of day they shoot( not to mention they are fabulous photogs.lol)

Neumanns, that's incredibly creative! I would never have thought of doing that.

Is the procedure difficult?

No, Search for "OOB", or "Out Of Bounds" There tutorials floating around here and the net.

Truth is this isn't even a good OOB. This is just a beginners attempt, but there fun and and a lot easier than they look.

But glad ya liked it...
