Thanks for all the critique. To make it more in focus should I have used a smaller aperture? The aperture was set at f/5.6

I'm not sure the aperture is to blame. Looks to me like the area of best focus is about 1/3 into the shot, or right below the ducks on LH side. I might also consider loosing the RH ducks via crop, the shot doesn't seem to need them. Colors are nice!

Definitely clone out those babies on the right. I think the composition would be much better if they were gone. Other than that, you might be able to fix it by sharpening it up a bit, but it would have been much easier to just focus correctly in the first place.
