Morning Jim. Warm here too. Think I am going to try and install a MAC operating system on a Dell computer. Let the journey begin.

As do I . If not no big deal. Just tired of him screwing up his computer every 6 months.

This is why I like MACS...less headache when it comes to blue screens of death in the hands of a 10 year old even with all the pop up blockers, anti-virus and firewalls. He still manages to mess it up.

I'm installing my RAM today for my ASUS Eee 1000HA. It should be easy. But I am so busy. I'll post a few later, if I get a minute. I put 50 miles on my car and never left Woodbridge/Manassas in 1 1/2 hours. So much to do.

Big meeting after school today here.....more bad news

They cut all spring sports in our town and all other "extra" kid attractions, which is so sad because there isn't all that much for kids to do here
anyway and the sports and fun clubs keep them off the streeta and out of trouble. We had the sports cut once about 15 years ago and the teen drinking, drugs problems and pregnancies went up by 37%. Parent and communtiy groups will get together and do all they can to help raise funds, but that doesn't look real promising either because of all the layoffs of jobs.
They are already cutting 10 days off or school year and Feb. 21 we will hear if it's going to be more than that, possibly another 15 days.:(:(
No spring sports photography for me either.:(

That's so sad to hear Kathy... If the military starts cutting us loose, I'd really be worried! That's just insane to cut sports and even the school year short. Dang I have never heard of that before.

So sad Kathy....

I just had a discussion with someone last night about this and also about "chubby" kids and no gym or recess in schools.

First things they cut are band and sports, or they do a Pay To Play.

They have to make 1.5 million in cuts here. I'm anxious to see how they decide to do it.

But I like what they said "the voters have decided and we have to tighten are belt" In Ohio, they would be threatening, pointing fingers and one time they taxed us anyways...

I just found out in my old town, they just cut all grace periods for the city water, they went from 4 shut offs a day to 50. You are one day late, you are on a list to be shut off.

So sad!

Yeah it really is a shame, but our school district is so bad off right now it's pathetic. They have to close school earlier in the year than normal because there is no money to keep it running. I'll tell you what though....It is absolutely amazing to see where money has been spent foolishly and believe me I could list many stupid stupid stupid places. It makes me mad because the kids are the ones that will lose out and it's not their fault.

They are cutting us loose. The Navy is down sizing as of now. I'm trying to switch rates to help out. Maybe they will let me go into the mass communications rating and be a Photographer instead of a mecanic

The school I've worked at for the last 5 years just cut my funding of $1k a year to run their after school math programs. So, I've been working since September without getting paid. It's sad, but I am committed to finish the year.
