That is all we can hope for - is some improvement.

Sunny for the most part here, and warm. I love it. Cold is coming back, so I'm bracing myself. I love the warm winters, I have to admit. We could use some more rain. We are behind again.

Jeff, wait until you have your first one in a few weeks. Your whole life changes. It's like this little creature is the evidence of all the love and joy of everything good you've ever experience before. Every time I hug my sons, it's like a miracle that they are here, the best part of the two of us (my hubby is almost perfect). And the babies always smell wonderful. I miss that. I can't wait for grandkids.

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.

Jeff,

So how is life in Cheyenne? We lived there from 1974 to 1978 on Francis Warren AFB. Had a wonderful time...Cheyenne hosts the best rodeo in the world IMHO.

I still miss the trout fishing...best ever...never got skunked once! Always brought back trout to share with the neighbors.

The cold weather is here and is definitely heading east. I miss the weather we had last week for sure - upper 50s was wonderful!

Yeah we are just waiting now. Her shower is on the 21st. She's really anxious to get stuff together - and get stuff we need but I know the shower is just what that is for. I really cannot wait to see him and hold him and then start snapping away LOL.

The 5D2 will be mine next week if I can locate one :D

Hello Jim - life is good as it can be in Cheyenne for me. I actually work on FEWAFB as a base photographer. They have contracted that out for the most part. PA still does some PJ stuff, and we help with the photos in the base paper. We also photograph all the commander's calls, retirements, promotions, etc etc etc. I am in the air guard and am applying for the full time photo slot that is open right now. It closes on the 4th of March. The person who has the job is retiring after having that job for over 20 years. The guy before him had it for 38 years so it must be a sweet job haha. It's a bit more than what I make here and the benefits really outweigh what I do here, although I will miss this position if I get that one. I have made some great contacts out here.

But anyway... yes Cheyenne Frontier Days rocks! I look forward to it every year. This year I am working to be one of the volunteer photogs with access to everything, including night shows where we will have Taylor Swift, George Strait, Sawyer Brown and Kenny Chesney plus more coming this year. I'll also be able to photograph the rodeos if I'd like, plus many other events that go on. It will be a busy time if I am still here with this job too with some 3 and 4 star generals coming through and acting as the grand marshal for the parades. We always have the USAF Thunderbirds perform too.

The hunting and fishing here, IMO, cannot be surpassed unless you go to Canada or Alaska. We are constantly seeing out of state plates in our forests and parks.

Good afternoon...

I'm anxious to see my grandson on the webcam, but have to pull myself together enough to talk to him before that can happen LOL.

Emotional rollercoaster, Jim, I have NO idea how you do it, only seeing those grandbabies 4 times a year!

Jeff,

I hope it works out for you...a dream job...getting paid for what you love to do. :)

Lisa,

It is hard not getting to see them grow up...but we do talk a lot, do Facebook, and visit when I can. Two years ago I drove to Chicago and back over a weekend because my oldest granddaughter called me in tears over her commercial HS Senior portraits. She hated them...so Elaine and I drove all Friday night...spent Saturday making portraits for her and her friends...and drove back all Sunday afternoon and night. I ordered packages of prints from MPIX.com for all the kids...they paid me back, and everyone loved the final product. Each young lady had at least 20 photos to choose from :-) Only for my grandkids would I drive 24 hours in 72!

Hi, Mike. It's been a long day. I still have stuff to do tonight. I'm taking glamour shots of teenage girls. Getting my softbox ready.

that sounds like delicious, be sure to share!

Here is what I've been doing...refinishing the cabinets.

Left one is the original, right one is the finished. I just didn't add the new hardware.
