Tom,

That is just unreal! I would never leave the house in heat like that!

We would never go outside then, Jim. Our summer temps are 100-110 degrees...relatively cool compared to Tom's desert heat :) I go out on walks and bike ride in it..I LOVE the heat! :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Morning all. Just saying hello before I head off to my beach shoot. Should be interesting with all the wind and my umbrellas. Guess I will have to break out the weights today. BBL.

I guess it is all what you get accustomed to? We usually stay in the low 90's here in late summer but the humidity is a killer! We like NOVA because we have four distinct seasons here...each brings something to enjoy :D My favorite is fall...I love the colors then.

We're on a 2 hour work delay here this morning. What a great way to start a Friday. I knew that rain would do us in. It's a very wet snow, and the snow that fell was packed on my car - we don't see that here often - I can't remember ever seeing it quite like this, it's just weird. At any rate, we could get up to a foot of snow now - so yeah I am hoping my boss calls me back and just calls it a day :)

The only bad thing - I'm on call :( So I hope everyone on base, and in the field behaves so I don't get called out!

The 2 hour delay didn't last for me :( I got called out - an accident with a snow plow and two parked cars ;) I then helped push a guy in a little ford pickup out of a drift. He was trying to help a van out and when he stopped, he stopped in a bad place. There are cars stuck all over the place. We should all just be home but that won't happen. And to top it off, I will be working until about 9 or 10 this evening, and again tomorrow possibly for 4-5 hours. Not a big deal I guess - but arg!

Afternoon/Evening all. Jeff sorry to here that your on duty all weekend. Me too. But my shoot went good today. Uploading to the site now for selections. Went with a single 580 with the PW and many different angles. Donuts in the snow...always fun!.

The heat is supposed to be here already. But hasn't shown the traditional 90 degree day yet!

Well time to get the day care kids out of here and the kids off to their movie. Peace and quite for a few hours at least.

Almost?

Tom lives out in the REAL desert where it can get up into the 130's on the most brutal of days.
We are not far behind in this valley..... two summers ago w had temps of 117-121 degrees but most of the time we average 102-106. It seems we always have a run of temps 110+ for one to three weeks, tho and the swimming pools get so warm they are not even refreshing.

I came home to my pepper tree alive with activity this morning....it was raining little red peppers everywhere. I got out and looked up to find ithe tree stuffed with birds....:D

If anyone is interested, my YouTube gallery is up. I'm not done. Have a few more to do. Just give me a PM and I'll send the link.

I am on a rant. Work is trying to guilt me into working overtime which I do not want to do. After a few attempts to poke at me about not being a 'team player' I lit into my boss. I sid "I have been inthis business for 25 years and have worked more overtime than all these young nurses together. I don't want the overtime, I don't need the money and I resent you trying to make me feel guilty. I show up every week for my shifts and do a good job here. I don't call in sick and often take the heaviest assignments. " Boy, I was MAD!
