Chris, a year! Wow. And she's so cute. Love chocolate.

Morning all! And I really missed you all yesterday. I finished my video and have it going to the 2 people reviewing it today. I hope they like it because it took me all week.

Chris, One year already! What a cutie pie! And, yes they are fast at that age :)

Good Morning, All! Busy day today working on proposals.

Tonight is the wedding rehearsal at 5PM. Get to meet the Priest and see if he will let me do my job? Tomorrow the wedding is at 3PM and the reception at 5PM at the awesome Mount Vernon Inn :)

I'm shooting solo at the wedding...I'm a little nervous about that. No flash allowed. I'll have my 17-55MM f/2.8 IS on the 30D and 24-105MM f/4 IS on the 5D. Got the 17-40MM f/4 and the 85MM f/1.2 in the bag.

We start at noon with getting ready at the hotel, limo ride to the church, ceremony, formals, and then limo around Mount Vernon for an hour doing candids...arrive at the Inn at 5:30PM for the grand entrance...should be fun :)

Thanks, everyone. She enjoyed tearing apart the cake.

I have my first solo wedding in a very long time in a few weeks. I'm getting nervous about it. It's a relatively small wedding and I know the bride fairly well from the orchestra I play in (which adds more nerves in some ways). We'll see how that goes. I've been getting requests from neighbors and friends about shooting weddings - so I guess I need to really start thinking about long-term in that regard. That and, I'm starting to save for a 7D. That thing looks freaking awesome so far.

I feel terrible I won't be able to do the ceremony with you, Jim, but I think I have Ken convinced to meet you at 5. I'll bring my 5D2 with 24-70 and 70-200 2.8 IS with flash. I think it's pretty dark after 6. But the rooms in the inn are nice and airy. You just need to bounce flash as much as possible or no flash because there are a lot of windows.

Suzie,

Super! Thanks...I going to decide this afternoon how to do the church...from the front or the back. Look forward to the reception with you :-)

I wish I could be there with you. It looks like it's going to be a very nice day. I am currently looking to buy a cello for my son. It's costing as much as the new 7D. :(

Hi Everyone!

I've been working at the Air National Guard this week, and they have POTN blocked :( I'll be there next week as well, just doing my annual training days.

I shot an engagement Tuesday night, and will post some up soon. I'll be shooting a senior tomorrow, as well as a family on Sunday as long as the weather holds up.

That's about it from me... I hope you're all well.

I bought the Canon Vixia HF S11 camcorder today from BH... it'll be here next week. :D I also picked up a second 2TB hard drive so I can have a true backup solution.

Wow, Jeff, tell me if the camcorder is any good. I'm in the market for another one soon.

We spent the morning in Fresno seeing an orthopedic surgeon. Both Skip's knees are bone-on-bone and have to be replaced. They will schedule it and let us know the date next week (scheduler was out to lunch when we left). So, no little boys today...Carrie took a sick day but I think she is just tired.

Skip and I have hunkered down to watch the Fresno State/Boise football game and are getting Mexican food from our fave restaurant.

I would love to be able to retire :)

That's odd. Why POTN?

I hope Skip mends well Maureen. I got laid off as part of the part of the global economic meltdown, so I feel like I'm retired (financially ok), but somewhat directionless. I've been doing a lot of volunteer work, but it doesn't have the same bite of a real job...

I think he chased me on his knees for a few months way back when, Tom ;)

Actually, he needed to get miserable enough to finally agree to see the surgeon. His x-rays are ugly. He has needed to do this for some time. He screamed while walking down the switchback on the Island of Santorini in 2007 and last October, I made it down Diamond Head in Hawaii 45 minutes ahead of him.

Just wait till he gets those new knees;):D

Seriously that's too bad he has to be in so much pain, I'm glad there are ways to fix up our worn out parts and make us feel good again. Do they do one knee at a time and let it heal before they do the other? How long is the average healing time?

Will do for sure! I just got news that the new macro will be here next week too, by Thursday I hope! I'm stoked to get the camcorder for Jacob though. He is at such a fun age and I'd love to be able to remember it forever.

Government networks have been tightened down recently, and it is listed as uncategorized and I am too lazy to have the net admin folks categorize it so it's unlocked.

Mo, I wish Skip well. In the end it will be worth all the hassle. I have a friend at work who had both knees done at the same time about six weeks ago...he is retiring from the Army soon and wanted to get this done while he still had priority in the medical system. He was back to walking unaided in about two weeks. He says the positive change in his lifestyle is just amazing.
