Mo, Skip is too cute not to have good knees. He will end up the Bionic Man and he'll be chasing you around. :)

I'm doing some work this morning and then shooting soccer and then on my way to see Jim. I'm still hoping to get there, Jim. Barring an unexpected injury, I'll be there. Dress in black? How formal is the reception?

Hi Suzie and All :)

Wedding events start at noon at the hotel...woot!

Wedding is at 2:30PM. Reception is at 5PM...I'm wearing business slacks and a blue dress shirt...no tie ;)

I met the priest last night, Father Chuck...what a wonderful and down to earth fellow! He told me that I had the hardest job at the wedding and I was to do whatever it takes to get right! We went thought the entire ceremony and he approved every position I wanted to use. So, 3/4 time at the alter and 1/4 in the center aisle as the ceremony wraps up. Formals afterwards at the alter. Then into the limo for an hour of photo ops in and around Mount Vernon...arriving at the Inn at 5PM :)

I know you are probably already there, Jim. I'll see you at the Inn at 5. I have your number just in case I can't make it. Wearing black.

I'm going to a wedding near San Diego this afternoon. I'm wearing cargo shorts and my 'chicken shirt' leaving the house, but have a change of clothes with me (at which time I will be resplendent in grey slacks, white shirt, nondescript necktie, and a navy blue blazer). I am taking my camera, but not for the wedding. Anytime I'm near San Diego, I always find myself wishing I had a camera with me.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Just wait till he gets those new knees;):D

Seriously that's too bad he has to be in so much pain, I'm glad there are ways to fix up our worn out parts and make us feel good again. Do they do one knee at a time and let it heal before they do the other? How long is the average healing time?

He will most likely only spend one night in the hospital and 6 weeks recovering. Doc says he could drive after 2 weeks. The surgeon I took him to does a Quad Sparing incision..which means, he avoids cutting thru that big quadricep muscle and therefore has less pain and a faster recovery.

We will try to get both knees done inside of 2-3 months.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Oh, that sounds painful no matter what, but it'll be worth it, Mo.

I just got home a while ago from helping Jim. He's been giddy with his new 85 1.2! I love that man! I didn't dare ask to borrow it. Maybe next time. He was using it and the evening went by so fast. The food was great, but the family Jim did this wedding for is actually quite wonderful. Thanks for asking me to tag along, Jim.

Good Morning, Suzie...Good Morning, All.

Had an awesome day yesterday. Suzie, I really appreciate your help with the reception yesterday. I have tons of photos to process in the next couple of weeks. Beautiful couple and beautiful ceremony. And, a new first for me...I got to ride in a limo with six beautiful women all to myself :)

Here are a couple of quick samples...I'm off to breakfast with Elaine and to do chores with her...

Wow, that bar looked wonderful, beside the beautiful women. :)

So glad I could see you yesterday, Jim. It was pretty lonely doing this by yourself. I will get the images to you, not that many, unfortunately by the end of the week. I did the first draft of the DVD I am working on and started getting feedback. Anyone know a software I can buy that is not iMovie (which I would love), but I have a PC and must be restricted to that. If you guys can recommend a software package, I'd appreciate it.

We went to a wedding yesterday. It was quite an unusual affair, but we had a good time. The bride is a professional musician, so the music was mostly top-notch. Instead of an organ or string quartet, they had a flute choir which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The location sounded very exotic, (Cardiff-by-the-Sea), but turned out to be a small, 2-story courtyard style motel in a nondescript beach town north of San Diego. Parking was non-existent, and everything was done on the roof of the motel which was a U-shaped affair (because of the courtyard). There were lots and lots of people, so it was a little 'close.' After the wedding, everyone adjourned from the roof to the two lower levels so they could set up for the dinner. That took forever, so by the time we were seated (an hour after the wedding), it was dark, and the only light available was from a couple votive candles on the table. I'm not sure what we ate, but it was tasty.

The wedding was a little unusual, and unsettling. Both the the bride and groom are widow/widower. They both lost their former spouses about 3-4 years ago. In the middle of the ceremony, the husband pulled out a spiral notebook, and waxed poetically about what a wonderful woman his dead wife was. It was a little weird, and was apparently a complete suprise to the bride and the minister. I think a lot of us were pretty uncomfortable.

Anyway, it was overall a nice affair, and I did enjoy watching the photog an his assistant work. (Noinkers)

I don't know how I'd take that as the Bride, but hey, I love my hubby now, and it would be hard no matter what.

I forgot to thank Jim for letting me be Doug yesterday. The food was delicious. Worth the whole trip to see Jim and to eat the great food. But topping it off with a group of very nice people and Mt. Vernon, my favorite. My car can drive there without me. :)

Wonderful shots, Jim. Let's see more :)

Ahhh, Mt. Vernon.....Jim, thanks for taking a day to take me there. It wa really wonderful, even if it did rain/drizzle all day. :) I will never forget it......and I really didn't realize it sat right on the Potomac. What history was made along that river and route!!

We have a river here in the desert.

Well, not really a river. There's a shopping center/restaurant complex called 'The River.'

Not the same thing, huh?

That does sound a bit different, especially the spiral notebook part...Yikes! I hope their first night as husband & wife went well after that.

I'm happy for you that the food was yummy

I'm happy for me that I was photographing a wedding in Maupin Oregon and not the one you attended:) AND NOT because you were there, just thought I better clarify that point before you called me on it! LOL

The wedding I attended/shot yesterday was to date the most wonderful wedding I have ever worked at. They called the bride "Bridechilla" instead of "Bridezilla" because she was sooooo easy going, relaxed and extremely happy about everything. Her family all have had some sort of "river" jobs for the rafting places around Maupin so she chose to have her wedding right on the river, where she arrived by raft in her gown, it was great! It's almost always windy on that area of river so she was already expecting small problems because of it...HAHAHAHA! What she was not counting on was an Air Life helicopter landing 50 feet from her ceremony site! It blew EVERYTHING away! The glass vases on all the tables even went flying! You would think this would be enough to bring a bride to her knees in hysterical tears.....NOT HER.... she was literally rolling in the grass with tears of laughter, then she jumped up, threw her arms up in a victory sign and yelled..."This is SOOooooooo wonderful, I wanted my wedding day to be special and THAT just made it perfect!

BTW the Air Life helicopter was there for some sort of public education thing, not because anyone was hurt.

EVERYTHING about yesterdays wedding was fun!
