For fashion, 5d with a normal prime is great (50mm 1.2 is good, along with 85 1.2 and 35 1.4, though the former is a telephoto and the latter a wide angle technically) I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I'd say the 5D, it's image quality is still superior over the 50D. I'm not so sure i agree. I haven't quite enough experience with the 50D but from what I have seen I like the 50D pics better. It will be interesting to see some of the big review sites do a controlled side by side. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

You gave full access to the TS-E lenses and ultra wide angles that you'll need for architecture. Tonight I have my first fashion shoot USING the 50d. So we will see how it goes, BTW i was using an XTi before, but i believe the 15mp will help big time with fashion photography. I know full frame is the way to go, but I also wanted the speed of the 50d __________

I know full frame is the way to go, but I also wanted the speed of the 50d I own a 5D and a 50D, I have used both for fashion shoots and both perform quite well. I might give the 5D a little higher mark for I.Q. but it would not be by much. My 50D also produces amazing files that are sharp and have smooth skin tones etc. I find that for my favorite fashion zoom (Canon 24-70L) the 50D is a perfect fit. It turns it into a 38-112mm with the 1.6 crop factor. Also the micro adjust on the 50D ensures that the images are tack sharp - nice plus.

Not sure, but I thought the 50D would make a much more affordable architecture rig. Also, with the gobs of megapixels, doesn't the 1.6 crop become less important?

Dogfood The problem is that Canon only makes three TS-E lenses at 24mm, 45mm and 90mm. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/
