i took this shot earlier today, and my friend said the colors seemed a little flat. do you agree? and if so, what settings should i change to fix it?

currently my settings are
sharpness 3
contrast +1
saturation +1
color tone -1

thanks!

They do look a bit flat, but that could be due to flat lighting ... what time of day did you take the shot, was it overcast? Shooting in the middle of the day can often result in flatness. You might also want to consider shooting RAW and using a post-processing program to tweak up the colours to your taste. cheers

There's something not quite right about it ... it seems to be quite blurred, was a tripod used? What were you settings for aperture, speed, ISO, where was your focal point etc?
EDIT - what lens did you use? It looks blurry at the edges.

Colors aren't flat for the conditions. How was your friend viewing it? On their own computer screen? If so, it's pretty likely they aren't calibrated, calibrated properly, or have a clue what calibration is.

Get a sturdier tripod and/or start using mirror lockup and/or a remote shutter release if you do long exposures often.

robonrome - it was very overcast, and cloudy, i haven't learned how to pp in photoshop yet. but i will hopefully soon!

horrgakx - a tripod was used, i meant for the water flowing to be blurred, heres a link to my EXIF data on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/moiht/2982027101/meta/ (external link) i was using a .42x fisheye converter, so i expected it to be a little blurry around the edges.

cdifoto - they viewed it on their computer screen, but what do you think of it from your computer screen?

thanks for all your input!

The colors look fine to me. That's why I said I bet it's their computer screen not being calibrated.

Thanks for that. I understand completely about the moving water (I teach adult education classes about this :) ), just that the rocks etc at the top left looked blurry. Might be to do with the extender not offering a uniform focal point.
