Has anyone had success in having Wal-mart or SAM's Club process digital pics? I tried Wal-mart yesterday and got trash back from by a big TIF but good results (nothing special) from a reduced size JEG file. The pics were both shot w/ D30 in RAW, linear converted in BreezeB, level adjusted in PhotoShot then save as 16 bit TIF and 8bit JEG on a CF card.

Thanks,
Bob

I have never had much luck with either Walmart or SAMs when you turn in you film or CF card and allow them to process it. Some of the stores now have the Kodak consoles whic allow you to inseret your CF card, select the image(s) to print, make adjustments, select the size and print. In this fashion you are in control of adjustments not them.
personnaly I use my own cumputer and printer. It may cost a little more in the long run but I like it better.

hey I have had some what luck with sams. You need to go to www.drycreekphoto.com (external link) and look at this site then work with your local sams to get the color and contrast right . It will take a little while to work with them and if you get a concern employee there it won;t take as long.
I heard about sams from a professional photographer that writes articles for the studio and design magazine. I guess if hte pics are good enough for him to sell ina wedding album guess thye good enough for me.

The only time I get trashed results is when I forget to make sure it's 8 bit. When I send a 16 bit file, ugghhh!
