Airing on HDNet, Primeval Paradise: The Story of Ulva Island. This is about a mammal-free island near New Zealand that's a sanctuary for birds. I saw it the other day and it's interesting. I get this channel on DirecTV. See HDNet
for airing schedule. Looks like next shows are Mon, Nov 3 - 7:00 PM ET and Sun, Nov 9 - 7:30 AM ET.
Also on the Science Channel, Ultimate Guide: Birds of Prey. Here's the airing schedule
. I watched the raptor show yesterday, it was pretty good. A lot of detail about how different raptors hunt, for example how barn owls hunt entirely by sound when it's completely dark, how kestrals have UV vision to see a trail of mouse urine, and a lot about golden eagles. They even showed a snail kite.
There was a show recently on Discovery or National Geographic about the evolution of flight. It was really interesting and they talked about how flight evolved separately in dinosaurs, insects, birds, and mammals. I can't remember the name of it though!
