Buzzard ( UK ).......was it worth the effort ?

Certainly was for me but not for him !... he spent about forty minutes flying around from post to post then swooping down for a feed, the last pic shows the result for all his efforts, going to find him a nice piece of road kill the next time i go.

nice shots aligater,for such a large bird they do prey on very small creatures,here in scotland it is also worm month and many buzzard can be seen in fields just waiting on the worms to appear,i suppose its a lot less effort than trying to catch a rabbit

You call 'em buzzards over there...
We call 'em Hawks. But they are beautiful birds whatever they're called, and we're usually happy to see them eat ANYTHING but our songbirds.
And we're always excited to get a decent shot of them.

5&6 are especially nice I think,

American hawks eat really well, your poor birds are dinning on worms??? Ha..ha...that's really funny! I have never seen a hawk eating worms, very good captures! Sorry I had to kid you a bit.

nicely done.

i haven't seen any photos of the bird's american cousin (red-tailed hawk) eating any worms.
