I just came from the Canon site - you forgot to mention that there is a contest running with the ten finalists. If a person votes for a favorite (and you can be sure I picked yours!), the voter gets entered in a drawing for a Canon product.

I just voted, your image is absolutely amazing. Wildlife photos are way harder then landscape IMO. Add that to all the highlights you mentioned about the photo and I think it will win...Jeff

Thanks for looking everyone, and I'm glad you all like this image. It was indeed a special one. As all you birders know....getting that one rare moment when all the pieces come together is truly special. Being able to capture it with your camera is what we all go after each time we go out. It has been over 6 months since I captured this series, yet I still remember that day vividly. Each time I go out, I hope for another opportunity like that.

There was one more in that particular series that many people liked. I feel that the one in the contest is the strongest of the two, but this one has it's merits as well:
