So it says the software isn't compatible with Mac OSX, what could I do to make it upload to a Macbook Pro and just do simple editing? (iMovie simple chop up and music over it) We got our old ass Sony to do it with the Hi8 tapes so I imagine there's a way.

It works great with OSx. I use it with 10.5.5 and have no problems. The drivers are included for OSx, but the ImageMaker software is a windows only product. You will have great results using iMovie 08 (anything prior to '08 will not be able to see the camera as they don't support avchd).

I have a MacBook Pro combined with the HG10. Editing on FCE 4.0 works well. I didn't have a problem with compatibility at all.
