Let them know you will do this basically pro-bono and they buy the pics they like, with no strings attached. Taking a bite in the ass now, will be better in the long run as I'm sure they would recomend you to others, not to mention you get to add them to ur list of gigs... I stumbled onto one at B&H Photo and was able to purchase it for $139.95 with a 90-day warranty. It works great and the price is less than used ones are going for on eBay.

I have the 420Ex as well and I have been very happy with both their performances! Play around with it for a while and you'll find it is fun & easy to use. Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
