billh101 Member 176 posts Joined Sep 2003 Location: Iowa More info | Can someone help me understand this? So, the high ISO noise and dynamic range are worst than the 40d. But, with all the extra resolution, when a picture is printed at the same size, would there be less "apparent" noise, due to the additional resolution? Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to talk myself into upgrading to the 50d, but the low light capability is something I have really been wanting improved. Maybe I just need to hold out and save up for the 5d... Bill

Thats down right horrible and the Pentax smokes the 50D. I'm wondering if there is not something else going on there. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Pentax did do a great job on the image quality of the K20D (especially compared to the K10D). Now they just need to upgrade the autofocus system gjl711 wrote in post #6590536 ![]() Seeing the 50D and D300 side by side sort of makes me wish I choose another route though in my pixel peeping I do not see the same softness as their noise pics show.
