First this is going to be alittle long and Im sorry.... Cliff Notes at bottom.

SO Alittle background story for ya before I tell ya the good news.

Ive been going to Missouri State here in springfield MO for about 4 months now ( Since August) and I have just been doing my own thing as far as photography goes. In september I went to a field hockey game to shoot where I met this guy named matt who shot for a local newspaper and ashley who shot for photo services. I talked to them, matt let me use his 300 2.8 ( nikon though,..) and we exchanged numbers. So this kind of sparked my intrest alittle bit. I decided what the heck, ill make a portfolio and then see if I can get a job doing photography on campus. Well I had contacted a couple places, two local newspapers. neither were looking for photographers ( at least to my knowledge because they never answered me). So I contacted a guy named john who was the director of photo services. I told him who I had met and he set up an interview for me. He said he didnt have any openings until next year but he wanted to at least meet me. I was happy with that alone. So I go in, the interview goes great and I ask if I can just get some credentials so I can shoot the football games (you need a pass to get down to the field). He said hed look into it and let me know. I get a phone call from sports information telling me that I had a pass waiting for me and could pick it up at the game. Will do. Now lets go to today....

I got the following email:

Would you like to start in December?

John

Needless to say I was pumped!

So it looks like Im starting in about a month working for photo services.. Nothing like getting paid to do what you love to do!!!! WOOT!

Cliff Notes:
I go to missouri state
I got an interview to shoot for photo services
I got the job!!!!

That's awesome! I know that feeling all too well!

Here's my cliff notes...

Attended the Art Institute of Colorado
Obtained my Associate of Applied Science degree in Photography
Had a plan to move back to Cheyenne, WY and work full time as a photographer
Got lucky and secured a lovely job on FE Warren AFB as a base photographer full time - contracted position.
Here I sit surfing POTN on a slow day still getting paid $20.42/hr. :D

Congrats Dave! Heck, getting the credentials to shoot the football games would have been good enough for me, but to actually get a paid job out of it is even better!

And happy birthday, too!
