I took this today at lunch. Used a tripod.

Love to hear the good and bad on this shot.

Insane colors. Out of your control but a boat or some other focal point would have been awesome.

Cheers... jim

I think you'd have a nicer composition if you panned to the right. That clump of uninteresting dirt on the bank takes up too much of the image.

I have a vague impression that it's not quite level. Maybe I'm wrong.

Also, lose the electric wire. It's a show-stopper. I recommend a solution less drastic than climbing the nearest pole and cutting it down.;)

Thanks for the input. I think that was about the last day here for autum colors. It rained and was a bit windy. I would pan to the right, but there is a house in the background.

Crop the top to cut the wire. The dirt... well there's a lot of dirt in nature. I'd leave it in; it's not exactly overpowering. Lovely fall colors.

I have to agree with 82NoMe in that the colors are simply beautiful but as a composition the colors aren't enough to carry the image...you really need something like a boat or someone fishing on the edge of the water...something as a central point of focus. Depending on what the house looked like, I may have even included that.

Just my $.02 worth,
Jim

Second that. Still, awesome colors and a very nice shot. Makes me think how much I love this season.

The exposure, saturation, and sharpness are righteous.

I wouldn't have wanted wanted to include another object--don't think it would have been a good idea.

Judging from the aspect ratio (rather square), your submission appears to be an outcrop. If it is indeed an outcrop, did you have enough room to extend the right border so that the bush would have been less central?

My suggestion would be to recrop the original to extend the right border until the central bush is closer to the left frame. Leave the left border as is 'cause it's going to be a strong lead-in line. Then dodge the bush slightly to make it stand out from the background. Do not dodge the bush too much or it will dominate the general beauty of the image.

The location of the ugly bush and the wire in the top-right corner are my only issues.
