Yes, the included Canon charger that comes with the XXD and 5D cameras does not have a cord.

That must be a newr thing. My 20D charger has a cord. Can you buy the other seperately?

I think the OEM canon charger is roughly 70-90.

You can get a sterlingtek charger for the BP511 for about $12 I think. Works just fine.

Not really, if you're in the US. It may be different elsewhere, but I have one of the first 20Ds and its charger, like the 5D's, is a wall wart. The D60 came with a 2-battery charger that has a cord, but that's older.

Thanx. Mine came with a cord and really is a pain to store in my case. I have a LowePro Slingshot 300 and running out of room. Guess it's time for a larger backpack. Looking at a few now. Especialy since I'm getting a 5D body and a few more lenses.

Once in a while, the cg580 is sold my another member here. I asked to buy one and someone sold it to me. I think I would prefer a corded charger, actually.

Can't go wrong. They work great. I have multiple SterlingTek batteries and they work great as well.
