my bug is in a calendar for next year!!!

a vw forum i use supports a kids cancer charity here in the uk, its called Brads after a young lad called brad that lost his life to cancer in his teens, there is lots of fund rasing on the forum and at the shows we attend, and for next year we all got together to do a calendar, my gf wanted to be part so i shot her and my bug for her month, im chuffed to bits as an amature photographer to get my first pic in print:)

had a bit of a disaster with the engine a few weeks back, main bearing decided it didnt want to play ball with the rest of the engine!!

i mangaged to find a bloke up in scotland that really knows his beans with these motors so were up and running again

Nice shots. Unfortunately, it looks like your bug has cancer (or what we here in the Pacific Northwest of the US call "body rot"). When my squareback started looking like that, I sold it off to a guy who restores them as a hobby, but haven't seen the end result. Good to see the old ones on the road. Love the cooler.

very very cool VW. I have always been a big fan of the "rat rod" style beetles. The setting is very appropriate for it too. I might try to find one next summer as a cool little car to have. The rust gives it character, I would just hate to have one with TOO much rust. Congrats on the calender

cheers guys, yeah i loved the character of mine, the fact that i can use it anywhere and not have to worry about someone bashing thier door into it in a car park, mines had a ground up resto, just the paint was left, so underneath its as good as new!!

ah your my freaking hero! I love how you re did the car except for the body. Those would be my exact plans. Are those original porsche wheels btw? I like the 2nd shot better than the first but thats just my opinion.

^ I believe it's the model's car, I could be wrong though. I can't believe that thing is mint underneath but the body panels are rusting! I wouldve left it that way too!
