My brother-in-law and his sister (whom I met today!) asked me to do as close a duplicate picture of the 2 of them as was possible...from a picture taken of them together, some 47 years ago. After much posing and positioning we got a shot that is pretty good IMHO....what do you think? I know the B/W conversion lacks something but with only having Elements 5.0 to work with I am limited as to how much I can manipulate the pic. Thanks for looking!

Then

And now

If there is anybody who wouldn't mind doing a GOOD conversion for me I could send you the original and I would be eternally grateful! Thanks again!

Wouldn't change a thing.

I think you've nailed it perfectly. They will be thrilled...

Very awesome idea and I think you achieved what they wanted. It would've been even better if he was wearing a striped shirt and she had on a white one!

You got the posing quite nicely, I certainly recognise him, although his smile could be even more similar to the first one. Did you consider taking of their rings and try and find similar clothing?

I think you did a great job. I love his hair!! It is exactly the same. Her expression the hands etc. Ya done good!! I think they will enjoy handing this down to their family for several generations - who knows and 40 or 50 years their kids will do the same thing!!

Pretty cool methinks!!

Ditto on the great idea. I think you did a wonderful job with the B&W conversion.

Thanks for all the positive input!!!! I finally feel very good with the results of something that I did in the world of digital photography. They had one done professionally a few hours before and I think (excepting the B/W conversion) that mine was even a bit better as we weren't in a hurry to get out of the office and spent more time with the posing. I love my new Alien Bees! I finally broke down and bought a light meter and the balancing of the lights was soooo much easier and the first to the last exposure all looked great! Why did I wait so long? <----------Stupid!

Great. Makes me want to re-create a photo I have of my sister and me at a similar age. I am envious.
