All the stuff around it pulls the eye away from the lighthouse. Otherwise it seems nice and sharp Canon 40D, 10-22, 100 macro, 100-400L, 24-105L, 28-135 kit lens, and the 430EX ll.

The first thing I would recommend is reading up on "the rule of thirds" in regards to composition. The light, color and exposure all look pretty good here, but to me the composition really makes this just look like a touristy snap shot. Yeah I love that light house more than most in the area, the only thing is that it is extremely difficult to shoot using just the kit lens on my XTi since its on an island and there are not many angles from the mainland i can shoot from... thanks for the tips though!
