Was downtown this afternoon and decided to check out the zoo which turned out to be a great idea because the big cats were up and moving around for a change.

When I went to the zoo all they wanted to do is sleep and watch people make funny faces at them, as they try to entice them. Number 3 is just great, he looks very hungry! ~Nathan

Maybe they're excited about the election, which is causing them to move around more than usual. Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever!

Most of these are very good. Thanks. I was using my 70-300 and I often seem to have trouble getting a good, sharp focus with it. Been thinking of sending it in for calibration because the optics are good when the focus mechanism does it's part. The shots of the tiger moving were especially hard to get. Lots of throw-aways to get a couple of marginal action shots. -- Ken

I went back to the zoo today and tried out my new 300mm f/4. The cats were back to their usual lazy selves but at least I got a chance to try out the new lens and I'm very satisfied with my new purchase. -- Ken

Not sure if you are looking for CC, but you do seem to have a WB issue in most of them. 1DsMkIII | 1DMkIIN | 70-200 f/2.8L IS | 24-70 f/2.8L | 24-105 f/4L IS | 17-40 f/4L | 50 f/1.2L | WFT-E1 & E2 Transmitters - Click Here for setup advice | CP-E4 Battery Pack x 2 | ST-E2 | 580EX | 550EX | 430EXII | 420EX | Tripod + monopod | Bowens Esprit Gemini 500W/s heads & Travel-Pak | All this gear - and still no idea

I left them as shot partly because I liked the warmer tones and partly because I was being lazy. Just opened each image, cropped to size, hit f9 to apply USM and saved as jpegs. -- Ken

silvex Cream of the Crop More info | Nov 19, 2008 05:24 | #12 They seem to lack contrast and a bit oof/soft. You EXIF says 1/80-1/200 shutter. Which is WAY too low for sharp shots. The 300mm lens needed at least 1/420. Try AV mode with iso 1250 next time. .
