Can I suggest you don't post so many in one go. Pick one you like but want some critique on and go from there.

Uh... yeah. I'm not going to look at all of those.

In the interest of helping you out, I clicked on the very first link, the pic of the coins.

The first thing I see is very uneven lighting. Top half is in shadow and the bottom half is lit so brightly that detail is lost. Next time try using a white sheet or something similar to diffuse the light. Check out https://photography-on-the.net …281524&highlight=lightbox and https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=480210 for a bunch of good samples, both of homemade light boxes and of the excellent results they can produce.

Welcome to the forum! As others have said, it's best to choose one or two images you particularly want to have comments on, and post them (by linking to them). In your selection, you have a lot of similar shots (lots of macros) with a common problem: they're not well focused (meaning that the part of the image your eye naturally goes to isn't in sharp focus). That may be a measure of the limitations of the camera, but more likely is due to a need to spend more time learning the camera. Good luck, and keep shooting!

Like they said, pick you one or two fav's. then post it here. (The easier you make it on us, the more replies you will get.)

I opened all of them.

What jumped out at me most were:

Most of the pictures were centered in the frame. Google "rule of thirds".

Most were not as vibrantly colored as I would have expected from the subjects, on my calibrated monitor. Maybe underexposed or underprocessed. This is something that can be worked on and fixed.

Some of the shots, especially of the ladybugs, were shot from directly above and don't add much interest to the shot. Look for a more interesting angle. I shot some macros of a tiny wild flower in my back field where I had to lay flat on the bug, fire ant and chigger infected prairie grass to get the most interesting shot.

The shot of the crayon to me looks like it is upside down. The angle of the crayon and the shadow was disorienting to me and that's what I was concentrating on instead of looking at the shot. Sometimes that's the goal so my opinion there might be off.

Now for what I saw that I liked:

Your focus in most shots looked good. Always make sure that you focus on what you want the viewer to notice most. Viewers will usually focus first on the brightest or most clearly focused part. Directing the attention is a whole art in and of itself.

The shot of the box turtle is nice. But I'm partial to photos of box turtles.

I liked the gumball shot. Nice color, nice focus. That one could be photoshopped into a nice poster of some kind. Or just a nice colorful shot on it's own.

I don't see anything there that makes me think you should change hobbies, instead I see a good start that just needs a little direction.

Check the bookstore or library or google for basic photography instruction and do a little studyin' and lets see more in a week or so.

I looked at the last two images and they were WAY oversaturated.

Welcome to the forums - great place to learn.

As a starter I would agree with the above comment about picking a couple at most and getting C&C on them.

I appreciate your enthusiasm. I did check a group of your images and saw multiple issues that could be addressed one at a time - fuzzy, lighting, saturation, composition. These are all elements that can be worked on separately and none of which are extreme in your work. Focus is my current hot button. If the image isn't sharply focused it's not worth pursuing IMO (except perhaps in some artistic, mumbo-jumbo context).

Sorry about my curt response earlier. Didn't mean to come off that way. Indeed, welcome to the forum. If I may, turning on "Image Editing OK" on your user cp will allow others to edit your photos and give you an idea how different people would approach your photo in post processing. I find that helpful both for the original poster (to gain perspective and insight about pp) and the person editing (to practice pp skills on subjects that one might not otherwise get to work on)

Thanks! Oh and by the way, the two that were oversaturated i did that on photoshop and I thought it looked really cool.

Sometimes different monitors don't display colors the same way so getting the shot to look just right on your monitor may look bad on somebody else's. That's why color calibration systems are important for anybody doing photography or computer graphics.

And sometimes it's just that different people have different tastes.

You're off to a good start. Just keep reading forums like this and remember that if you receive harsh feedback it's not personal, it's jsut people being honest so that you can become better.

Hey!!! I clicked on all your photos and I'm really impressed!

Some of the close-up flowers are great. Especially the purple and the one with the yellow centre. I love the crayon - great perspective. The gumballs are so colorful. And the lady bugs are my favorite... -the one ladybug by itself and one group shot. As if you got them to co-operate and pose like that. You must have waited forever. :)

You have a great eye. Keep up the great work.

i clicked a few at random - overall a good collection, nice composition, variety of subjects. some of them are a little underexposed, and watch your white balance too

but most of all congrats on a great start to photography
