Hey gang, I would like to know all the prime lens one should own since I may be looking at a few more primes.
Right now I own the tamron 17-55mm lens as my first prime lens.
So what other primes should some one consider buying?

Nov 03, 2008 12:46 | #7 A "prime" lens in common photography terms is a lens which does not zoom. The 17-55 and 17-50 you just mentioned zoom while the 50mm 1.4 on the other hand does not, making it a prime. Prime is pretty much used interchangeably with the term "fixed focal length." http://www.colorblindedphoto.com

(looking at my lenses, primes would be the Sigma 30 f/1.4, Canon 85 f/1.2L, Sigma 150 macro, Oly 28 f/3.5, Pentax 50 f/1.4) You have a standard zoom. Jordan Steele - http://www.jsteelephotos.com
