Oh dear.....

http://www.vistek.ca …-pack-for-5d-mark-ii.aspx (external link)

I kind of saw this coming but still.....$210 for a battery!?! Yikes! Nearly 3 times the price of the NOINK d700 battery. I'm sure they are going to tell us that chip inside them is very expensive.

Be glad your not buying a grip for your NEW camera just yet. I hope the grip only carries one battery, not two!

Sterlingtek will have a clone in a month after release. I did find it funny seeing the new specs from Canon "30% Performance Gain!!!! In Normal temps, this battery will take 800 shots, versus the 750 of a 5D" I haven't taken calculus in a while, but that don't seem quite right :)

They also have the new grip listed too. Comes in at $350. At least they will be available when the camera ships i am told.

It will be a cold day before I pay that for a battery that costs only a few bucks to make.

Lately some of the best Nikon salesmen seem to be working for Canon.

I'll wait and see what Amazon, B&H and Adorama sell it for before I start my stroke.

I've started my stroke - figured I'd save time.

Other sources online have it estimated at around $95 USD. Still not great and only an estimated price, but better than $210. Luckily, one comes with the camera.

Does that come with or without a battery? Could make all the difference in the world. :-)
