I actually have (4) legit LP-E6s but I also have one generic. I had wanted a generic charger as they can charge Canon LPE6s so I could do two at once. Price was $11 but for $7 more I could get one generic battery too. I figured why not. It looks like the orig and seems well constructed. 5D2 gives communication error upon insertion and you over-ride. Works fine but you have no idea how much juice you have and of course cant register it.

I have a tiny MKE400 mic and find the combo very convenient for home video stuff. I am likely to have my 5D2 with me anyway, and found myself with the Canon HV10 HD cam at home so decided to jump on the video bandwagon!

SYS Cream of the Crop More info | Mar 12, 2009 20:11 | #51 I think a lot of consumers basically underestimated the extraneous cost of the video feature in the 5DII. A higher lithium-ion density battery is necessary to run the video feature and therefore costs more. In order to eliminate some of the undesirable audio like motor humming and wind noise from the built in micro, an external micro becomes necessary, etc. Canon, like any other companies, knows how to milk its cow.
