you get the idea! good job. i suggest that you retake the photo of the turtle, but this time think about where you should put the light to place a more interesting shadow. the reason i chose the ball was that it had a shadow that suggested that the ball could be placed in the corner of the frame. depending on your photo and the light sources, placing in the corner might not be best.

lastly, if you're just going for pure product shots, putting the subject in the center is more than appropriate. it's probably preferred for auctions and saleable goods.

thanks, and i found a way to just adjust the background instead of the ball without using any selection tool. You can start by editing the whole photo, which you did, but then you can edit it back, and since you can not change the levels of white, the background will stay the same, but you will still be adjusting the ball.

play around and do what works for you... there's a lot that you can do... try to figure this out... it's very simple

We're going way off topic from comment and criticism and more towards post processing

just because we are talking more about processing, doesn't mean it still isnt criticism.

Semantics, right? Anyway... I love these opportunities to edit images. Here's one last one before I get back to studying. I thought that the turtle looked fantastic, but the colors could use more punch.

lol, that is really cool, i love editing photos, especially changing the colors of things, for example, i took a pic of my brothers red mustang, and gave it a "little" pink flavor, i would post it but i think it is to irrelevant

Hi All,

This sounds like a nice project. What type of lenses were used here?

I'd like to try some product photos :)

Best,

Reign - How did you pick up the object? What software did you use? Is it possible to do in the tool that comes with Canon XTI reble or GIMP?

Thanks
