Emergency!! Restore photos to card?? Erased??

Friend did an in camera "erase" of a photo or photos on her 30D. Any hope (freeware) or otherwise to get them back off the card??


Bodies: SONY A850 / Pentax K100D / D70 (18-55VR, 55-200)
Primes: Minolta 28 ff2.8 / Minolta 50 f1.7 / Minolta 50 f2.8 Macro
Zooms: 35-70 f4 / 100-200 f4.5 Lights: AB800 / AB400 & CSRB's

Found a freeware"PC inspector Smart Recovery" program, anyone use this?

I use ZAR:

It works incredibly. it takes a while, (depends on how large of a memory card you have), but it recovers 90% of the photos.

I have used http://www.cgsecurity.​org/wiki/TestDisk_Down​load (external link) with some success.

If you have not written over the files(taken more pictures), then you should be able to get the files back.
