Food Photography...C&C Please

Another round of food photography taken for a local college... This time, some kitchen candids were taken as well... All food was taken with the 24-105 f/4L, and the kitchen shots were taken with ambient light only and the 50 f/1.4. C&C Please!

1. Caprese Tower

wow congratulations much better i have to say! theres some really nice images there now! well done!

Very nice, but because of the white serving dishes, I think that a light "studio gray" neutral background might have been more effective.

While this isn't food, I think that it shows that a graduated light neutral gray background can help to add depth to an image and also improve separation between the foreground and background.

Lovely series.I lkie them all except for the individual turkey dinner.the turkey, to me, should be turned over and nestled in the serving platter?

REALLY like that first kitchen photo.

Love all of these - makes me hungry! Can't remember the last time I had a meal that decorated!

I agree about the background color though - you do lose some of the dishes into the background, but even then, it isn't bad at all.

I like the duotone treatment that you did for the kitchen shots.

Funny thing about the turkey, is that it's a cornish hen
But I agree...there was something somewhat crude with it's "pose."

I got here too late to comment about the background color.

I would like to see more depth of field in some of them.

But they really are fine the way they are. Actually they are well done!

I actually knew it was a cornish.seeing as the title was individual..lol.just was thinking turkey when I saw the Thanksgiving And yes, the pose does look rather barbaric?

Love your shots mate, its a pity they have absolutely NO IDEA what to do with them! That board they use to post the shots on is Gawd awful! Sorry...maybe don't tell them that. hehe.

I just thought it is such a waste of great photography..

I figured you knew, just was giving you a hard time. If it was an actual turkey, that would be a hell of a lot of carrots and mashed potatoes!
