Hello,
I have a WEIN Peanut slave connected to a 550EX flash. It triggers fine the first time but after that the 550EX seems locked as it won't fire with the peanut or manually. I also can't change mode or any other setting on the 550. If I cycle power or remove and reinstall the peanut it works fine again for one shot.

Does anyone else use this sort of setup with success?

Sage

Peanut slaves, as you have just found out, won't work on Canon EX flashes. They aren't able to recycle the flash. You have to manually turn the flash off and then back on each time. You can use a set of Pocket Wizards to fire them, but then you need a set of PW's and a Hot Shoe adapter for them that you can get at www.paramountcords.com (external link) .
